The I/O AUDIO VOLARE is a stellar set of universal IEMs at this price point, and I cannot recommend them enough. The design is visually appealing and wonderfully constructed, the accessory kit is outstanding, and the unboxing experience is very premium. Most importantly, the three driver types used were implemented in a refined and exceptionally competent manner.
I always liked the Moondrop Variations. These are better. IO Audio Volare.
The Volare provide an exceptional entry into tribrid IEMs with premium packaging, comfort, and competitive pricing. Their balanced sound strikes a sweet spot between detail and smoothness, avoiding aggressive treble.
description
I/O Audio Volare—a name that resonates with audiophiles and music enthusiasts alike! Let’s dive into this impressive piece of audio engineering.
The I/O Audio Volare is a tribrid (yes, you read that right—three types of drivers!) universal in-ear monitor (IEM) that has been making waves in the audio community. Here’s the lowdown:
- Driver Configuration:
- Dynamic Driver: It features an 8mm custom dynamic driver with a birch wood dome and a silicone rubber surround. This dynamic driver handles the low frequencies, ensuring a solid foundation for your music.
- Balanced Armature Drivers (BAs): There are four full-range custom BAs, each contributing to the midrange and high frequencies. These BAs are designed to work together seamlessly.
- Electrostatic Super Tweeters (EST): Brace yourself—there are four Danish-made Sonion electrostatic (EST) drivers packed into the Volare! These mini ESTs handle the ultra-high frequencies, extending all the way up to 80kHz. That’s where the magic happens.
- Crossover Wizardry:
- The Volare’s crossover system is like a secret potion brewed by audio sorcerers. It combines a four-way electronic crossover with a three-way physical crossover. Imagine them doing a synchronized dance inside those sleek earpieces. 🕺💫
- This intricate crossover tech ensures that each driver type plays to its strengths, resulting in a harmonious sound signature.
- Sound Quality:
- The Volare strikes a sweet spot between detail and smoothness. You won’t find aggressive treble here—just a balanced, engaging sound that lets your music shine.
- And yes, it’s priced at $599, which makes it a compelling choice for those seeking high-end performance without breaking the bank.
- Unboxing Experience:
- Picture this: You open the box, and it’s like unearthing a treasure. The accessory kit is outstanding, and the overall presentation screams premium. Kudos to I/O Audio for nailing the unboxing game!
- Pros and Cons:
- Pros: The technical performance punches well above its price point. The integration of three driver types is impressive, and the accessory kit feels luxurious.
- Cons: If you’re using the Volare outdoors, beware—the vents can pick up wind noise. Also, some listeners find the bass lacking a bit of texture.
In summary, the I/O Audio Volare is a stellar contender in the IEM arena. Whether you’re diving into your favorite tracks or exploring new genres, these tribrids have your back.
